Obituary of Viola F. Nelson

Viola F. Nelson, 88, formerly of 39 Woodlawn Ave., Lakewood, passed away at 7:15 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. She is together again with her late husband, Edward L. "Bud" Nelson, who died 11 days ago on October 17th. They were married December 20, 1945. A lifelong area resident, Viola was born November 23, 1924 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Ruth Minnie Nelson. She had been employed by Watson Manufacturing Co., Steel Partitions and for seven years by the T. James Clarke Box Co. Viola loved being a housewife and a mother. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (Jim) Constantino of Ashville and Linda Nelson of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Melissa (David) Gniewecki of Lakewood, Amy Constantino of Panama, Michael (Alexandra) Constantino of Getzville, NY, Heather (Josh) Pickup of Jamestown and Travis Loewel of Jamestown; four great-grandchildren: Lauren Constantino, Nolan Pickup, Natalie Pickup and Colton Loewel; a brother, Gene (Sarah) Nelson of Lakewood; and a sister-in-law, Patricia "Twig" Nelson of Port Charlotte, Fla. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Nelson; a sister, Clarice DeSantis; and an infant sister, Joan Nelson. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. A graveside committal service, led by Pastor Samuel Shreffler, will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery immediately following the visitation Friday.
