Obituary of Dennis W. Shaw

Dennis W. Shaw, 70, of Park Meadow Drive, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday Oct. 31, 2013, while surrounded by his loving family. Dennis was born October 17, 1943, in McKee, PA., and was the son of the late Elmer and Ruth Green Shaw. Dennis was a veteran of the US Navy where he proudly served from 1960 until 1963. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Dennis worked for Stroehmann Baking Company as a route salesman. During his retirement, Dennis volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels by delivering meals to those in the community. Dennis loved his family, dogs, and watching sports, especially his two favorite teams the Steelers and the Yankees. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife the former Dianne Hagglund, whom he married August 12, 1972; three daughters Traci (Michael) Stevenson of Jamestown, Kendra (Michael) Zink of Amherst, NY and Denise (Michael) Felder of Buffalo; seven grandchildren Seth, Nolan and Gracelyn Stevenson, Aidan, Madelyn and Karina Zink, and Annalise Felder; a brother Ray "Cook" (Alys) Shaw of McKee, PA; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ebersole and Nancy Butler and three brothers Pete, Lester and Rich Shaw. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. James Read will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
