Obituary of Steven M. Solinger

Steven M. Solinger, 57, of Jamestown, died Sunday November 3, 2013 in Gates Hospital, Buffalo from complications due to a stroke. He was born December 6, 1955 in Jamestown the son of the late Theodore R. and Ruth Barker Solinger Sr. Steve was a 1974 graduate of Jamestown High School and a US Air Force Veteran, serving in Korea. He had worked as a maintenance mechanic with the Jamestown Housing Authority since 1995. Steve was always there if you needed him. He was just a phone call away. Surviving are three children, Patty Keller, Jessica Solinger, and Steven Solinger all of Jamestown; two brothers, James Solinger of Orlando, FL; Ricky Solinger of Jamestown; four sisters, Nancy Raley of Canandaigua; Diane Sheesley and Jeanine Sweet both of Jamestown; and Kathy Close-Murphy of Charlotte, NC. Steve will be sadly missed by two very close friends, Ray Robbins and Dawn Gustafson and his cat Nub. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore R. Solinger Jr., and Gary W. Solinger; and nieces and nephews, Lisa M. Woodhall, Gregory S. Solinger, Robert S. Sheesley, and Jason K. Mohney. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the members of the Jamestown Vietnam Veterans Post at 4 p.m. Saturday November 9, 2013 in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday November 8th and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday November 9th in the funeral home.
