Obituary of William G. Loomis
William G. Loomis, Jr., 64, of Broadway Avenue, Maple Springs, died Monday November 11, 2013, in Westfield Memorial Hospital.
Born in Jamestown December 9, 1948, he was a son of the late William and Mary Kibbling Loomis.
A Bemus Point area resident most of his life, he attended Bemus Point Schools and graduated from Marvelwood College Prep School, Kent, CT, where he was an accomplished lacrosse player.
For over 40 years he owned and operated Loomis Landscaping and prior to that worked at Long Point State Park as a groundskeeper.
He will be remembered as a great father and grandfather who was dearly loved. He was an avid collector of model trains.
Surviving are four children William Loomis III of Lakewood, Craig (Molly) Loomis of Bemus Point, Jim Loomis of Maple Springs and Mike Loomis of Jamestown; four grandchildren Josh, Rylie, Triston and Brianna Loomis and a sister Mary Jo Kail of Florida.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Tom Loomis.
A time of remembrance will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
