Obituary of James A. Engdahl
James A. Engdahl, 82, of 13 Delaware Avenue, died Friday November 15, 2013 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
A Jamestown native, he was born June 16, 1931, a son of the late Kenneth and Sylvia Thompson Engdahl.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Air Force from 1951-55.
He was currently employed by Anderson Cleaners in maintenance. He earlier had worked for Producto, Edborg's and Art Metal.
He was a member of Henry Mosher Post #638 American Legion, Falconer and the Falconer R/C Club.
Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandpa. He always enjoyed time with family and friends. Jim enjoyed photography and constructing model planes.
Surviving are his wife the former Alice Walz, whom he married July 1, 1960; two sons Mark (Lori) Nystrom and Steven (Becky) Nystrom, both of Jamestown; a granddaughter Missy Nystrom of Alexandria, VA and a brother Kenneth Engdahl, Jr. of Tarpon Springs, FL.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Rick Miller will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
