Obituary of Norma G. Morrison
Norma G. Morrison, 94, of 3584 Mead Rd. Jamestown, NY passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013, in the Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
A lifelong area resident, she was born December 20, 1918 in Lander, PA a daughter of the late Claus R. and Anna Larson Carlson.
Norma was a 1936 graduate of the former Lander High School and also graduated from the Hoff Business College in Warren, PA.
Before her retirement she was employed by the former Rockmans Super Duper for 13 years until the store closing in 1981. She had earlier worked at the New Process Company and Quality Markets. Following her retirement she was a caregiver for several families for over 20 years. She was also an election inspector for the Town of Busti for 10 years.
She was a member of the Busti Federated Church where she was active in the Philathea Group. She was a member of the Busti Reading Club, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and was a volunteer at W.C.A. Hospital and for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile Program.
Surviving are two sons Richard L. (Ann) Morrison of Jamestown, David L. Morrison of Busti, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death her husband Ernest H. Morrison whom she married April 16, 1938 and who died June 16, 1972, by two sons James E. Morrison, Robert W. Morrison, two grandchildren Suzanne Brubaker, Cory Morrison, two sisters Henrietta Light, Elizabeth Kiebler and a brother Willard Carlson.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013, in the Busti Federated Church. The Rev. Lee O'Brien, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Busti Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Friday in the church.
