I will always remember Mr. Paterniti as the first principal who gave me the opportunity to teach! He believed in me and I admired him as a mentor, as well as a leader. Ironically I began my teaching career at Washington J.H. but then he moved to Jefferson J.H. he was once again my principal. There were but a few educators who influenced my career and I am proud to say that he was one of them!

Mr. Paterniti was my principal at Wash. I was one of his more troublesome students, causing trouble multiple times daily. Yet, he was always kind to me, always pointed me to my potential and always saw what I could be, not was I was being. When I finally graduated from college I thought of my family, my struggles to get my BA and a few of my past educators. He was the first one I thought of. A kind, honest and thoughtful man, I am sad at his passing, our world is a bit darker because he has left it. Rest in peace my mentor, my friend.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Paterniti, he was a good man and cared so much for all of his students. He was my junior high school principal at Jefferson in 1983-1984. 30 years later, I still remember him and smile. My prayers are with his family and friends. It is a sad time for us but a glorious time for him as he is now resting peacefully in heaven and has come face to face with our Father.

Dear Mr. Paterniti - Thank you for your guidance advice while I was at Washington Jr. High School. I wanted you to know that I became what I had always wanted to be...and then some. Thank you, Monsignor Albert J Oneto, osf
To the Paterniti Family, Know that your Father was someone who saw more in people (especially young people) then most saw in themselves. I was one of them. As is the nature of growing up - we move, we accomplish things and so very often we do not remember to tell those who were instrumental in our development "Thank You"! Know that your Father is in my Prayers and will be remembered in Mass this week. Msgr A J Oneto, osf, Boston MA..
