Obituary of Amy R. Heglund

Amy Tanner Sweatman Heglund, 43, of South Nesmith Ave. Bemus Point, passed away unexpectedly Sunday December 1, 2013 in her home. She was born April 19, 1970 in Jamestown the daughter of John R. and Lorraine English Tanner. Amy was a member of the class of 1988 at Maple Grove High School and in 1997 graduated from the Jamestown Community College Nursing program as a Registered Nurse. She worked as an RN in the Emergency Room at WCA Hospital. She also worked at the Lutheran Home and at various other facilities. Amy enjoyed camping, bonfires, boating and canoeing. She loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends. Her favorite time was being with her children. Surviving besides her parents of Bemus Point are her husband, Matthew Heglund; five children, Brandalyn, Paul, Emilee, Trent, and Drew; a brother, Mark Tanner; four sisters, Cheryl Perrin, Beth Pearson, Kim LeRoy, Janel Blake; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Linda Rothwell; her maternal grandparents, Howard and Catharine English; and her paternal grandparents, Floyd and Dorothy Tanner. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer, pastor, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Fluvanna Community Church Building Fund, 3363 Fluvanna Ave Ext., Jamestown, NY 14701.
