Obituary of Robert Torres

Robert Torres, 54, of 12 Kinney Street, died unexpectedly Monday December 2, 2013, in his home. He was born October 13, 1959, in Jamestown a son of Gearldine Kahle Torres and the late Alejandro Torres He moved to Puerto Rico at a young age and was raised there until returning to this area at age 13. He was a graduate of Panama Central School and attended Jamestown Community College. He had been employed by Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant. He will be remembered for his kindness and joking ways and the smile he always had. Surviving besides his biological mother of Panama is his stepmother Alvira Perez of Jamestown who raised him; two daughters Stephanie and Taylor Torres of Jamestown; step daughter Samantha Overbeck of Falconer; grandchildren Alexander "Papito" Torres, Giana Martinez of Jamestown and Vincent, Ashton and Lincoln Satterfield of Falconer; siblings Aly Torres, Cindy (Mark) Smith, Sonya Gibbs and Billy (Christina) Torres of Jamestown, Elizabeth Torres and Enrique Torres of Florida, David Torres, Victor (Nancy) Torres and Elba Torres of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Thomas (Vicki) Torres of Panama, NY, Virginia Weeks of Houston, TX as well as a large extended family whom he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his father, aunt Antonia Dejesus and uncle Cornelius Torres. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Gumersindo DeJesus will officiate.
