Celeste truly was an angel with love in her heart for others. My parents and I always enjoyed visiting the Andersons, or inviting them to our home. Celeste was wonderfully faithful in writing to my mom after we moved, and uplifted our hearts when we saw her in July. The good news is that Bob and Lorinda can rejoice with her in heaven. Peace to their memory.

It is difficult to express in a few words what a grandparent means to you, nor is it possible to provide justice for such a beautiful woman by attempting to do so in such a manner. However, it is simple to share the contents of a gift given to many with the work of only one person's heart and soul.
Tolstoy believed that for one's life to have meaning, they must create enduring value. I believe this to be true, and moreover, I feel that no one fits this criteria better than my grandmother. Having had the privilege of being touched by this wonderful person, and having seen the outpouring of love and courage shown by those who attended and spoke at her funeral service, it is clear to me that her life was more than meaningful, and created joy and happiness for the many she touched. Her memory will carry on for generations, and her courage, generosity and compassion will live on in the hearts and hands of those who loved her.
Thank you, grandma, for showing me the true meaning of life, and for giving me the strength and desire to carry on your sense of selflessness for the remainder of my days.
I Love You!!!

If all of us were free to choose who we would want our mother to be, then I couldn't have made a better choice. I don't remember a day going by, that she didn't do something kind for someone else, either through a kind word or selfless act. She cared about others, always above herself, and that is such a rare and wonderful gift to give your children. She embraced everything about her life, good and bad, and smiled through all of it. Love was easy for her, and she was loved in return. I will miss you mom. Thank you

Grandma you are the sweetest, and most generous person I have ever come across...the world will never be the same without you. I loved the stories you would tell because they would never end...literally they never ended. You always complained about your hair or your wrinkles, but to me you were the most beautiful person on Earth. I knew this to be true because your personality was beautiful and awe inspiring. And your eyes...I loved your blue eyes. Your eyes were so filled with kindness, and love. I love you Grandma, with all my heart, and I will miss your terribly. You were not only a grandmother to me, but a second mother. But what I will miss the most about you is having you embrace me in a loving hug because when you held me I felt secure and safe.

Ed, thoughts and prayers to you and the family. Your mom was one special lady, and will be greatly missed. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart - she had this way of making everyone feel special and loved. She is in heaven now with your dad and Lorinda and is at peace. Keep her in your hearts forever.

Hi Mom,
I remember watching Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech with you on our old TV set back at our childhood home in the '60's. When his speech was done, you said, "that is a great man." You didn't say black man... you simply said, "...a great man." You looked right into his soul and saw him for what he was--a human being. Because of you, I've always tried to judge others by "the content of their character." Because of you, I try not to paint everything in the world like our old TV did... in black and white. You lived your life as an example of how to treat others with the same respect and dignity you expected. Because of that, I think it is why you got to leave this world with Nelson as your shepherd guiding you to Dad.

I had known Celeste for about 10 years. She was a very special woman. I always felt like I was with a friend when we spent time together. Even when she didn't feel well she would always ask me about how I was doing and always asked about my children. In this world you don't meet special people like Celeste very often. She was one of my favorites. She will definitely be missed. God Bless her and her family in this difficult time.
