Obituary of Shirley C. Lynn

Shirley C. Lynn, 86, of Irondequoit, NY, passed away Monday December, 9, 2013, in the Friendly Home, Brighton, NY. Shirley was born January 23, 1927 in Jamestown, NY, the only child of the late Chester W. and Elsie Feldhaus Carlson. She was a 1944 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1948 graduate of Allegheny College, Meadville, PA. She married Lewis G. "Jerry" Lynn on November 10, 1951 and moved to Irondequoit in 1954. Following the birth of her sons she was a stay at home mom and homemaker, working in volunteer jobs for her church, school and community. When her sons were grown she worked with her husband in his company, J.L. Rochester Company. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed keeping up to date with her extended family and friends in Jamestown and always remembered them with a birthday card every year. Surviving are her two sons, David (Lorayne) Lynn of Rochester, NY, Stephen (Joyce) Lynn of Chantilly, VA, five grandchildren, Jennifer, Bryan, Nicole, Brandon and Mikayla Lynn and her brother in law John M. Lynn of Rochester. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis G. "Jerrry" Lynn who died August 14, 2005. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2013, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Adam Rohler, pastor of First Covenant Church will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
