Obituary of Ann Dominick

Ann Dominick, 96, of Emeritus, formerly of 369 Howard Avenue, died Thursday December 12, 2013 in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown area resident since 1952, she was born September 4, 1917, in Hillsville, PA, a daughter of the late Dominic and Rose Shella Vaccarello. She was the co-owner of Jamestown Roofing, Inc. with her husband, Samuel and ran the business solely for many years after his death. This was a remarkable accomplishment for a woman of her time. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her zest for living, loyalty to family and friends and excellent character. In later years she received great pleasure from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are a son Carl A. (Mary) Dominick of Jamestown; a daughter Josephine Al-Rawi of Oceanside, CA; a granddaughter Kimberly (Paul) Nelson-Chapin of Baldwinsville, NY; seven grandsons Lance (Carlyn) Al-Rawi of Fullerton, CA, Tony Al-Rawi of Menifee, CA, Steve Al-Rawi of Irvine, Joseph M. (Donna) Dominick, Carl S. Dominick and Timothy J. Dominick all of Jamestown and Daniel J. Dominick of Lakewood. Also surviving are three great grandsons Joseph T. Dominick of Fredonia and Kyle J. Al-Rawi and Jordan J. Al-Rawi, both of Fullerton, CA; a great granddaughter Megan Al-Rawi of Fullerton, CA and a sister Rose (John) Staab of Erie, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Dominick, whom she married September 11, 1936 and who died March 29, 1959; a daughter Carol Nelson; son-in-law E. Richard Nelson; two brothers Samuel and Dominick Vaccarello and five sisters Madeline Crolli, Margaret Piccirello, Mary Bukalo, Caroline Cirillo and Josephine Stankay. A private Memorial mass will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
