Obituary of Janette E. Nygren

Janette E. Nygren, 89, formerly of 1247 Southwestern Drive, died Sunday December 15, 2013, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born August 3, 1924, in Chandlers Valley, PA, a daughter of the late Richard and Laura Swanson Mack. She graduated from Sugar Grove High School. She had been employed as a receptionist for Dr. Oliver Phillips, DDS and later by Dr. Daniel Fagerstrom. She was a charter member of the former Weakland Chapel, now Jamestown Community Chapel, where she has been a faithful member for over 60 years. Her other memberships include Norden Women's Club, Palmers Corners Mothers Club and had been active in the PTA. She thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent singing in a trio with Marjorie Pearson and Edith Lewis. Surviving are three children Richard (Barbara) Nygren and Michael (Darlene) Nygren, both of Busti and Lorraine (John) Nordland of Columbus, PA; twelve grandchildren Dea Voorhis of Lakewood, Ashley Nygren of Cedarville, OH, Deena Calhoun, Andrew, Nicholas and Allison Nygren, all of Busti and Elizabeth, Luke, Joshua, Timothy, Johannah and Michelle Nordland all of Columbus, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Nygren, whom she married November 14, 1959 and who died September 24, 2001; three brothers Robert, Charles and Richard Mack and a sister Carol Syper. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel Keefe will officiate. Burial will be in Busti Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday in the funeral home.
