I was saddened to see the news on your dad. I am in Naples FL and try to keep in touch with news up there. I will always remember the years at St Johns and religious instructions and the years at JHS too. Your dad was a special man and he will live on in the memories we all have. . My husband Paul & I got to know Mr. & Mrs. Joy through being friends of their daughter Kathleen. They always welcomed us into their home when we visited Kathleen and we shared many fun board game nights with them. This wonderfully, yet indescribable, total role model and mentor built more good character into Jamestown's young people than anyone will ever know. I am so much better for having his example to use as a high water mark all my life. A finer man I have never known.

Vince was responsible for getting me into college in 1956. I do not believe that my life would have been as successful without his help back then. Sorry that we cannot attend. Rest in peace Vince.

Vince was a great sports man. I have many memories of him as a football official going back to my playing days in the late 50's & 1960. He was one of the great men of his era.

We are out of town presently so won't be able to visit the funeral home, but want the Joy family to know that Vince was a special friend and will be missed. I worked my first Sectional basketball final with him many years ago and have always enjoyed his positive attitude about life. Thanks for all you have added to our area, Vince. Well done !
