Obituary of Norman N. Ingerson
Norman N. "Neil" Ingerson, 72, of 8 Crane St. Jamestown passed away at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014, in the heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident, he was born September 26, 1941 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Norman W. and Eva I. Higgs Ingerson.
He attended the Bemus Point Central School and became an artist and soon put his highly skilled gift to work as a spray painter. From the 1960's through the 1980's Norman worked for the Jamestown Metal Corporation, Inter Royal Corporation and for the Phoenix Metal Corporation.
Norman spent many of his years helping the poor and needy, especially helping to feed many children in the community. He also loved spending time in the woods hunting and fishing. Over the years his travels took him to Texas, Kentucky, Virginia, Florida and the Carolina's.
Surviving are his wife, Rose Pellerino Ingerson of Jamestown, two sons, Todd A. Ingerson of Kennedy, NY, Barry M. Ingerson of Jamestown, seven grandchildren, Constance Ingerson of Houston, TX, Andrew Cessna of Jamestown, Joshua and Jordan Ingerson both of Kennedy, Jon Scott of Celoron, NY, Andrea and Brittany Ingerson both of Jamestown, two great grandchildren, Zek and Emmy, and three sisters, Eileen Kovel of Jamestown, Elaine Ingerson of Kiantone, Kathleen A. Lawson of Warren, PA.
The funeral will be held at 5:00 p.m. today, Sunday, January 5, 2014, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Nathan Bailey, of the Park United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. today in the funeral home.
