Gladys, Sue, Greg, and Becky,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Randy was the least known of your families to me, but knowing everyone else, I know he was in the same mold, in terms of how he lived his life and cared about friends and family. I am not able to get to the funeral home to visit in person, but know that the thoughts and prayers of our family are with yours.

Mt Deepest Condolences to the Peterson Family. When Randy was made they broke the mold. He was one of a kind. He was warm, honest and sincere. I've known Sue & Randy pretty much my whole life. Since both our back yards shared a property line, I can say I grew up in their back yard. Randy was more of an uncle to me than my real uncles. Randy & Sue opened the door to numerous activities such as skiing,ATCing, horseback riding, wave running and some of my first jobs. One of the first jogs was baby sitting their great kids, Jeremy, Adam & Betsy.
We are sorry he is gone but he will not be forgotten.

I'm so sorry to hear of Randy's passing, I could think of little else all day. Randy was a problem solver and mentor to me. I can vividly remember the trips to the ice cream stand. He would come in and say let's go get some ice cream. Sometimes it was good news, sometimes bad, sometimes it was just because it was a nice day and he wanted to shoot the breeze. He was always open and honest and I always felt I could come to him with any problem or idea. I know he is in a better place, but I can't help but feel as if he was taken from us too soon. May God bless Sue and the kids.

To my special New York family, all the Peterson's. As a college roommate of Sue's, I had the honor of sharing the Peterson life from the beginning: weddings, birthdays, ranch & cottage visits in all seasons and so much more. Randy was the light that brightened everyone's day; one smile from him would perpetuate so many more. A smile breaks across my face every time I think of Randy. Forever a friend, Karen.

Sue and family, working with Randy and having him as a friend
was a real blessing to me. He had more confidence in me than I did in myself. As a result, I am a better person for knowing him. It seemed he could make the impossible possible! I can still hear his voice of laughter down the hallway. Yep, Randy's here! That is what I will never forget and always be grateful for. Our deepest sympathy to all.

Randy's biography and the candle tributes truly describe a man who indeed left us all too soon. He accomplished much for our area in his short life but was not content to rest on those laurels. He had great plans for his town and the lake. He carried out fully the Lyle and Gladys Peterson tradition of giving as much or more back to the community than was received. He had a zest and energy for living and a great sense of humor to match. Now he has left for greener pastures; a spiritual place where he will cajole and rattle the cages of the angels and make them smile and laugh with his stories as he did for his friends and family here on earth. Yes, he will be missed.

Sue, Jeremy, Adam, & Betsy:
I cannot start this with a beginning or create an end. Because, in my years knowing Randy I cannot remember our first meeting, seems he has been a part of my life forever. Nor do I choose to remember our last. The Randy Peterson family has been in my heart ever since Randy and I went to Jefferson Jr. High. Shy as he was back then, obviously that changed. And we are eternally grateful for that.
As students we knew each other and were always fond of each other. As adults, our families enjoyed so many great memories. If I listed every memory we all have, there would be no end, just like the love we all have in our hearts for every one of you.
Sue: Craig, I, and the boys are eternally thankful for all the memories you and Randy helped create with us.
Jeremy, Adam and Betsy: Thank you for all the fun, joy, memories, laughs, kisses and hugs we have all shared through the years.
Memories keep Randy with all of us every day. And every day, Randy is still with us.
Our Love to all of you

It was in great sadness that I read about a good man leaving us. I have known Randy from his Jefferson Jr. High days to his becoming a leader in providing utility services to Jamestown residents. Over the years I had several opportunities to work with Randy and always found him to be a great public servant who genuinely just wanted to see the job done right. He always worked in the best interest of the community. In addition, I was a big fan of Randy from afar. So few people know how this true public servant touched so many, many lives; quietly working in the background. The obit captured so well Randy's spirit. My condolences and prayers.
