Obituary of Cheryl R. Dean

Cheryl R. "Mema" Dean, 60, of the 110 West Third Street Jamestown, passed away Monday January 13, 2014 in WCA Hospital. She was born March 1, 1953 in Erie, PA the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Ellen L. Woodcock Phillips. In earlier years, she worked as a bus monitor in the Jamestown Public School System. Mema enjoyed playing BINGO, was a huge fan of NASCAR and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her favorite times were those spent with her family. Surviving are two daughters, Holly Sechriest (John Kearns); Heather Dean; a son, Gary S. Dean Jr., all of Jamestown; ten grandchildren, Austin Mancuso, Alissa Sechriest, Sapphire Dean, Sierra Dean, Trent Dean, Brooklyn Walrod, Emma Walrod, Fallon Dean, all of Jamestown; Brooke (Al) Ray of Alabama; Jessica Kearns Reed of Benbrook, TX; six great grandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Kathy Barron, Linda Schwankee, Louann Phillips, Donald Phillips, Randy Phillips, and Dennis Phillips. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary S. Dean Sr. whom she married November 26, 1975 and who died December 23, 2005. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday (two hours prior to the service) in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
