Obituary of Cordella J. Horan

Cordella J. Horan, 90, of 83 E. Virginia Blvd., passed away quietly and peacefully at home with her four children at her bedside on Thursday, January 15, 2014. Cordella was born in Adolph, WV on April 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Louis M. and Emsie D. Barrickman. Cordella's life was centered on her family. She is survived by a son, Steve (Mary Sue) Peterson of Las Vegas, NV; three daughters: Christine M. Peterson, with whom she made her home, Ann L. (John) Fagerstrom of Jamestown and Susan M. Peterson of Seymour, TN; five grandchildren: Mercy Peterson, McClain (Nina) Peterson and Sierra Peterson, all of Las Vegas, Nikki (Kevin) Pierce of Jamestown and Lacie Griffin of Sevierville, TN; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Carroll Barrickman of Barberton, OH. She will also be dearly missed by her loving pets, Petie and Emmie. Cordella was preceded in death by her mother in 1927; her father in 1977, her step-mother, Beatrice Barrickman in 2004; three sisters: Bernadine Feathers, Norma Wamsley and Shirley Jean Zavatsky; and three brothers: Emmett Barrickman, Dana Barrickman and Willard Lee Kelly. A private family service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701. Cordella's family would like to extend a special thank you to Chautauqua Adult Daycare, as well as WILLCARE, particularly Christi and Mary, for providing loving care to Cordella.
