Obituary of Joyce Mae Anderson

Joyce Mae Anderson, 81, of 94 Eagle St. Jamestown, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born September 21, 1932 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Robert and Helga Klang Anderson. Before her retirement she was employed by the Jamestown Board of Education, working in the cafeteria of Jamestown High School for over 33 years. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and traveling when opportunities were available. She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, the Ingjald Lodge # 65 Independent Order of the Vikings, the Thule Lodge # 127 VASA Order of America, and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Surviving are her husband Bryant G. "Buster" Anderson whom she married December 16, 1950, two daughters, Paula (John) Giambelluca of Greenhurst, NY, Karen (Christopher) Creighton of Bemus Point, five grandchildren, Bryant J. Gauggel of Jamestown, Hilleri S. Shaw of Depew, NY, Elizabeth A. Gauggel of Foxboro, MA, Brooke C. (Mikael) Lindsley of Annapolis, MD, Andrew R. Creighton of Lakewood, NY , a great grandson Bryant J. Gauggel, II, her brother Clayton (Winnie) Anderson of Bemus Point and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Teresa Anderson and her brother Carl Anderson. A private graveside service will be held in the Lake View Cemetery.
