Obituary of Ronald P. Hodom

Ronald P. Hodom, of Lake Alfred Florida passed away on January 16, 2014. He was born in Barker, NY on February 8, 1921 the son of Paul and Yolanda Corbin Hodom. He attended Cassadaga High School and served in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1945. He has been in Florida for the past 30 years after his retirement. Previously he lived on the Dutch Hollow Road Bemus Point. Ronald was married to Alice Starks Hodom on January 21, 1946. She passed away on September 25, 2000. He worked for Dahlstrom Mfg. Company for 30 years prior to his retirement. Ronald is a life member of the Jamestown American Legion and also a member of the American Legion Post 8 of Winter Haven, FL. He also belongs to the Moose Lodge 1023 in Florida and a life member of the VFW Post 53 in Jamestown. He enjoyed traveling, living in Florida after retirement, dancing, family and friends. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Seeker; two nephews, Robert and Richard Seeker; a niece, Carol Nelson; and a great nephew and God Son Larry Seeker. Ronald is survived by Robert's children, Melissa Badendyck, Tamera Rouff, and Thomas Seeker; Richard's children, Andrew Seeker and Danielle Seeker; nieces Virginia Marzoni of Arlington, TX; Martha Hunt of Bemus Point; Marlene Walrod of Jamestown; nephew Richard Starks of Bemus Point; and a brother in law, Clayton "Jack" Starks of Bemus Point. Ron will be greatly missed by his great great niece Sydney Badendyck. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in the Bemus Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
