Obituary of James N. Hall

James N. "Jim" Hall, 55, of 62 Colfax St., Jamestown, passed away Saturday February 1, 2014, in his home surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born in Jamestown, NY on June 7, 1958, the son of James Hall and the late Eileen Bush Hall. He graduated from Panama Central School in 1976 and had worked for Matco Tool Company for 20 years. Jim will be remembered as a great husband and father. He devoted his life to his family and was well loved by his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed camping, watching go cart races, and flying his remote control glider. He was also an avid star gazer who enjoyed looking thru his telescope. He will be missed greatly by his beloved dog "Lilly." Surviving besides his father of Panama are his wife, Debra Peru Hall whom he married August 4, 1979, three daughters, Melissa Hall (John Mains), Laura (Tom) Farnsworth, Melinda Hall (Jeff Patterson) all of Jamestown, six grandchildren, Justine Hall and Austin Mains, Brandon Beardsley, and Cathryn, Kristen, and Kyle Farnsworth, a brother David (Dawn) Hall and a sister Susan Abers both of Panama. He was preceded in death by his mother who passed away August 22, 2013, and his grandparents Herman and Lucy Hall, and James and Mabel Bush. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Jennifer Delahoy, pastor of the Kennedy First United Methodist Church will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Chautauqua County, 20 West Fairmount Ave. Lakewood, NY 14750. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Hospice Chautauqua County for their loving care.
