Obituary of Mark G. Munk

Mark G. Munk, 52, of Woodbridge, Virginia gained eternal peace on Friday (January 31, 2014) in his home following a long and painful illness. Mark was born May 20, 1961 in Ohio, the son of Marilee Munk of Liberty Center, Ohio and Robert Munk of Flagler Beach, Florida. In addition to his parents, surviving are three sisters, Lynn (Ross) Rigoli of Grand Haven, Michigan, Venus (Jason) Ayers of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Susan (John) Beechnau of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and several nieces and nephews. Mark is also survived by his step-mother, Sally Munk of Ormand Beach, Florida; close friends, John Patterson and Robert and Carmella Sears, all of Woodbridge; and his beloved Schnauzers, Lollipop and Maumee. Mark was a member of the Southwestern Central High School Class of 1980. Mark loved life and, before his health failed, was an active participant enjoying dancing, decorating and many other artistic endeavors. He especially loved camping. Mark was a very social individual attracting friends wherever he was. Even as his health failed, his sense of humor prevailed as he teased his caregivers and then smiled. Private funeral services are being handled by the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
