Obituary of Donna L. Cheney

Donna L. Cheney, 81, of 297 Shadyside Road, Lakewood, died Wednesday February 5, 2014, in her home. A native of Jamestown, she was born January 17, 1933, a daughter of the late Laverne and Edna Newgreen Lindquist. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School. She was employed for several years by Lakewood Memorial Post #1286 American Legion as a bookkeeper and cleaning person. She was a past president of the post's auxiliary. An avid golfer, Donna was a member of Maplehurst Country Club and had won several area golf tournaments. She was also a fanatic fan of the Buffalo Bills. Surviving are two daughters Kim (Victor) Emery of Newfield, NY and Karen (Virgil Metcalf) Cheney of Ft. Myers, FL and a grandson Jeremiah Emery of Newfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Derwyn Cheney, whom she married July 10, 1954 and who died January 12, 1991 and a brother Donald Lindquist. In keeping with Donna's wishes no funeral service or visitation will be observed. Inurnment will be in Lakewood Bentley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W.
