Obituary of Joyce M. Morton
Joyce M. Morton, 86, formerly of High Acres, passed away peacefully Tuesday February 11, 2014 at the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility with her daughter Phyllis by her side.
She was born July 10, 1927 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Frank and Carmella Urso Lauria Sr.
Joyce had owned the Vintage House Restaurant with Betty Fadale, and she had worked as a waitress for many years at the Hotel Jamestown, LaScala, Ironstone, and the Nite Lounge.
Joyce took great pride in keeping her home absolutely spotless.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis (David) Caloren of Bemus Point; Sharon (Dennis) McGreevy of Flat Rock, NC; two grandchildren, Heather-Marie VanDorn of Sammanish, WA; Charity Joy Carris of Bemus Point; two step grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn (Chris) Burgstrom of Rochester; James Brian Caloren of Bemus Point; a cherished great grandson, Jordan Dominic Carris-Caloren of Bemus Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Morton; son in law David James Caloren; two brothers, Sam Lauria and Frank Lauria Jr.; and two sisters, Carrie Morgante and Mary Ann Elardo.
A Memorial Service will be announced in the spring by the Lind Funeral Home.
