Obituary of Daniel G. Crowell

Daniel G. Crowell, 65, of 12 Superior St. Jamestown, passed away at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, in his home. He was born January 25, 1949 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Harold Crowell and Esther Pavlock Crowell. Dan was a graduate of the Cassadaga Valley Central School. He retired in 1988 after serving for 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Navy from February 18, 1969 to June 30, 1988. In previous years he was a member of several veterans' organizations. He was proud of his service to his country and enjoyed his time spent traveling throughout the world during his enlistment. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father and grandfather. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughter Madison. Surviving are his mother, Esther Crowell of Falconer, a son, Christopher C. (Kim) Crowell, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Virginia Beach, VA, a granddaughter, Madison Grace Crowell of Virginia Beach, a brother Jeffery (Jaime) Crowell of Sinclairville, NY, and a sister Linda (Richard) Waclawski of Dunkirk, NY. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his wife the former Judith "Judy" Hess Crowell whom he married September 20, 1969 and who died March 27, 2012, an infant son, Brian Andrew Crowell, a brother Joseph Crowell and a sister Virginia (Ginny) Dingman. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2014, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor of Holy Apostles Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the W.C.A. Hospital Dialysis Unit, P.O.
