Obituary of Gertrude E. Carlson

Gertrude E. "Trudy" Carlson, 84, formerly of 19 West Cowden Place, Jamestown, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born August 21, 1929 in Ozone Park, Long Island, NY a daughter of the late Henry W. and Frances McCaulley Busch. She will be remembered as a wonderful housewife and homemaker, and was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who was devoted to her family her entire life. Surviving is a daughter, Rochelle M. (Michael) Giambrone of Jamestown, two sons, George L. (Brenda) Carlson, II of Sherman, NY, Douglas M. (Vickie) Carlson of Poolesville, MD, seven grandchildren, Skye (David) Wiseman of Hingham, MA, Kristine (Jason) Taubert of Birchwood, TN, Rhianna (Chris) Godios of Fairlawn, OH, Cailley (Sean) Macaluso of Buffalo, NY, Aislyn Carlson of Jamestown, Jason (Kristina) Carlson of Walkersville, MD, Michael (Nichole) Giambrone, III of Chattanooga, TN, ten great grandchildren, Alex Taubert, Michael Taubert, Tyler Carlson, Owen Carlson, Ava Carlson, Henry Carlson, Benjamin Wiseman, Gabriel Wiseman, Olivia Giambrone, Gehrig Giambrone and two nieces, Linda Ruh, Bonnie Updegraff and their families. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George L. Carlson whom she married November22, 1947 and who died March 6, 2010, a sister Dorothy Brauss, a brother Henry Busch, Jr. and a daughter in law Holly Kay Carlson. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Aaron Bjork will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
