Obituary of Sally L. Bloom

Sally L, Bloom, 73, of 27 Harris Ave. Jamestown, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, February 23, 2014, in the UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. An area resident for most of her life, she was born April 28, 1940 in Clymer, PA a daughter of the late Kenneth and Amanda Hagstrom LaMar. She was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild and also took part in the Big Sisters Program at Immanuel. She also served as an election inspector for Chautauqua County, working from the former Allen St. Fire Station and later at Bush School. Sally was formerly employed as a caregiver for Accredited Care of Jamestown and had also worked for the Resource Center and Willcare. In earlier years she had worked for the former Murphy's Department Store. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved doing arts and crafts, spending time in her garden and enjoyed painting. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, David L. Bloom whom she married August 3, 1963, two sons; Richard Bloom, Jeffery (Susanne) Bloom both of Jamestown, two grandsons; Jordon and Karson Bloom both of Jamestown, three brothers; Dale (Janie) LaMar, Reynold (Karen) LaMar, Gary (Martha) LaMar all of Jamestown as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Connie Shields and Joan Snow. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert J. Kasting, pastor will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Southern Tier Kidney Association, P.O.
