Obituary of Lois V. Olson
Lois V. Olson, 86, of 27 Hughes Street, died Friday February 28, 2014, in Jackson Hospital, Montgomery, AL.
A Jamestown native, she was born June 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Abbott Hutley.
She was a member of the Jamestown High School Class of 1946.
Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed by Jamestown Unigard Insurance as an underwriter since 1968.
She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. A former member of Kidder Memorial and Brooklyn Heights United Methodist Churches, she served as organist for both. Her other memberships include Home Bureau, Business and Professional Women and Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary.
Surviving are her loving husband Emory C. Olson, whom she married March 3, 1971; three children Linda (Larry) Delgado of Horseheads, NY, Suzanne (James) Miller of Montgomery and John "Skip" (Susan) Berenguer, Jr. of Jamestown; five step children Stephen (Deborah) Olson of Anadarko, OK, Karen Olson of Rochester, Lynette (Scott) Hendrickson of Maryville, TN, Rebecca (David) Jollow of Jacksonville, FL and Laurie (Brian) Bessey of Darien, CT; twenty eight grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; a brother Robert (Wilma) Hutley of Lander, PA and a sister-in-law Priscilla Hutley of Busti.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Raymond and William Hutley.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday and for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
