Obituary of Jeannette Shepardson Arnold

Jeannette Shepardson Arnold, 87, of 18 Bemus Street Bemus Point, NY passed away peacefully Monday March 3, 2014 in WCA Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born December 12, 1926 in Bemus Point the daughter of the late Leslie H. and Marjorie Beightol Shepardson. Jeannette was a 1944 graduate of Bemus Point High School and received her Associates Degree from Alfred State. Prior to retirement, she was a decorator with Holmlund's Wallpaper & Paint. Earlier she was proprietor of J's Yankee Peddler, and with her husband, the Bemus Point Casino. She was the oldest and longest tenured member of the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. Other memberships include, the Vikings; Bemus Point Study Club where she served as vice president; and a charter member of the Bemus Point Historical Society. Surviving are three daughters, Candace Arnold Grisi (Charles) of Akron, OH; Sherry Arnold Carleton (Paul) of Cleveland, OH; Joy Kittrell (John) of Rochester, NY; nine grandchildren, Michael (Anna), Beth (Chris), Brad, Kelly, Drew (Cali), Meghan (Michael), Molly (Russell), Colby (Alice), Ashley, and Scott; nine great grandchildren, Emma, Stanley, Henry, Lucy, Chase, Cecilia, Christian, Gabriella, and Camilla; two sisters, Joyce Wight (Donald), Janice Galloway (Richard) both of Bemus Point; a brother, Richard Shepardson (Patty) of Albuquerque, NM; a cousin, Lois Isaacson (Oke) of Bemus Point; and many loving nieces and nephews. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard M. Arnold. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday April 19, 2014 in the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. The Rev. William Allen, pastor, will officiate.
