Obituary of Roy Alvin Hine

Roy A. Hine, 85, of 760 Midway Dr., Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of 54 S. Alleghany Ave. W.E., passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, in his home. A lifelong Jamestown area resident, he was born February 27, 1929 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Clarence and Winogene Hine. He was a graduate of Falconer High School and before his retirement had worked for the former Jamestown Metal Products for several years. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood and was also a member of the Jamestown Moose Lodge and enjoyed bowling in several leagues at the Fountain Bowl. Surviving are his wife the former Angeline "Angie" Phillips whom he married October 30, 1954, two sons: Terry "TJ' (Claudia) Hine of Chicago, IL, Dan Hine of Leesburg, VA, two daughters: Jan Johnson of Ashburn,VA, Beth (Ken) Mattheis of Pittsburgh, PA, six grandchildren, Aubrey Hine of Nashville, TN, Adam Luhmann of New York City, Andy Luhmann of Ashburn, VA, Alyssa Mattheis of Pittsburgh, PA, Troy Hine of FL, Jennifer Lyons of Jamestown and a sister Joyce Swanson of Jamestown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sons: Larry Hine, Roy A. Hine, a daughter, Diane Hine, two brothers, Donald and Jack Hine and a sister Priscilla Yoksh. A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood. The Rev. Piotr Zaczynski, pastor and Msgr. Joseph M. Dowdell, retired pastor will be celebrants. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
