Obituary of Ursula M. Holt

Ursula M. Holt, 91, of 2515 Carlson Rd. Jamestown, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2014, in W.C.A. Hospital. Coming to the United States in 1952, she was born November 24, 1922 in Berlin, Germany a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Johnsdorf. As a young girl, Ursula lived through the bombing of Berlin and later became an art teacher in Germany. She followed her husband James to the United States following the Korean War. She will be remembered as an excellent seamstress who also loved doing arts and crafts and enjoyed cooking. She also loved animals, especially her cats. She and her husband enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC to enjoy the warm sun and beautiful beaches and to spend time with family and friends. Surviving are her husband James B. Holt whom she married in 1949, a son, Ross F. (Penney) Holt of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, two granddaughters, Farrah Holt-Gomez of Charlotte, NC, Lesley Holt-Laljie of Ft. Lauderdale, a great granddaughter, Ariana Rylee Gomez and her sister Gesilla Schulz of Berlin, Germany. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son Steven Holt. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Shreffler, Chaplain of the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
