Obituary of Eleanor M. Whitney

Eleanor M. Whitney, 90, formerly of Sugar Grove, died Monday April 28, 2014, in the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA. She was born March 7, 1924, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Ivan and Helen Pangborn. She loved to crochet. Surviving is a son Ronald (Susan) Whitney of Sugar Grove; two grandchildren Thomas (Tonya) Whitney of Sugar Grove and Deborah Dorsett of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren Ericka Rhoden, Danielle Bradish and Brielle and Brodie Whitney; two sisters Janice (William) Gisler of Leetonia, OH and Dorothy Horner of Lakeland, FL and a brother-in-law Richard Hallberg of Findley, OH. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Whitney, whom she married December 20, 1941 and who died June 19, 2010; step mother Dorothy Pangborn; two sisters Margaret Crandall and Jean Hallberg and a brother Ivan Pangborn, Jr. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sunset Hill Cemetery Chapel. Rev. Billy Hughes will officiate. Friends will be received for one half hour prior to the service in the cemetery chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
