Obituary of Muriel M. Atman

Muriel M. Atman, 90, of 9 Crane St. Jamestown, formerly of Columbus, NJ, passed away at 11:35 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, in W.C.A. Hospital. She was the widow of Edward John Atman who died July 2, 1983. A Jamestown resident for the past 4 years, she was born July 2, 1923 in New York City, a daughter of the late Stanley and Caroline Ketzlick Jozaitis. Before her retirement she was employed in the accounting department of JC Penney Store and the Burlington Coat Factory. Surviving are a daughter Gayle (Ken) Vossler of Jamestown, a son Edward J. Atman of New York City, two grandchildren, Eric (Tara) Vossler of Wind Gap, PA, Kathryn (Chris) Kahanic of Grand Island, NY. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers Lawrence and Robert Jozaitis. The funeral will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, Chaplain of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Maspeth Queens, NY. Friends will be received from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
