Obituary of Norma J. Guelfi

Norma Jean Guelfi, 86, of Jamestown died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in WCA Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Hazel Paige of Bradford, Pa. Norma was born February 18, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and was a graduate of Bradford High School. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry Guelfi; a brother-in-law, James Guelfi of Bradford; and her three children, Denis (Judy) Guelfi of Angola, NY, Patricia Mahoney of Burnt Hills, NY and Catherine (Louis) Vento of Newark, DE. Norma is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a great- great-granddaughter, all of whom she adored and doted on. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Ann Guelfi who died December 1, 1979; and a son-in-law, Michael Mahoney. Norma loved to bowl, golf and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed caring for her "4 legged" grandchildren, with Mario being her clear favorite. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Apostles Parish, St. Peter & Paul Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Norma's final resting place will be next to her daughter, Cindy, in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bradford. The family will receive friends prior to the Mass from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., or to Holy Apostles Parish, St. Peter & Paul Church, 508 Cherry St., both Jamestown, NY 14701.
