Obituary of Maxine A. Schruise

Maxine A. Schruise, 92, of 176 E. Terrace Avenue, Lakewood, died Wednesday May 14, 2014, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A native of Sherman, NY, she was born September 12, 1921, the daughter of the late Harry and Minnie Becker West. She was a graduate of Sherman High School. For many years she worked as a child care provider and a self employed house cleaner. In years past she had attended Lakewood united Methodist Church and Lakewood Baptist Church. She was a member of Busti-Lakewood Golden Agers, North Harmony Senior Citizens and Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary. Surviving is a daughter Sheila Brink of Sherman and a grandson Brian Schruise of Jamestown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Schruise who died October 17, 2005 and a son Bill Lee Schruise who died November 7, 2013. The funeral will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
