Obituary of Ruth C. Peterson

Ruth C. Peterson, 90, formerly of 9459 Chautauqua Rd., Little Valley, NY, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. A lifelong area resident, she was born October 14, 1923 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Chester Lee and Clarabelle Himes Myers. In earlier years she had been employed by the former National Worsted Mills and was previously a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lakewood, NY. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are two daughters Kathleen (Robert) Hedrich of East Randolph, NY, Melissa (Mark) Hedstrand of Frewsburg, NY, a son, Richard "Bub" Peterson, II of Little Valley, NY, four grandchildren, John R.F. Hedrich (Jamie Post) of Little Valley, NY, Mark S. (Danielle) Hedstrand, II of Clarendon, PA, David C. Hedstrand of Jamestown, Jessica A. (Rolfe) Mosher of Frewsburg, NY, and four great grandchildren, Mark S. Hedstrand, III, Sakura Hedstrand, Hailey Ruth Mosher, Selena Hedrich. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard O. Peterson, a sister, Dorothy Lundmark Johnson and a brother Paul Myers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Holy Apostles Parish at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Tucker Cemetery, Town of Poland. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. today (Friday) in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led by Deacon Sam Pellerito at 5:45 p.m. today in the funeral home.
