Obituary of James L. Armeli

James L. "Jimmy" Armeli, 57, of 12129 West Main Street, Perrysburg, NY, formerly of Jamestown, died Sunday June 15, 2014, in his home. A Jamestown native, he was born May 27, 1957, a son of the late Sebastian and Clara Armeli. While living in Jamestown he participated in the Day Hab Program. Jimmy was friendly to everyone and brought joy to all. He loved music and his favorite was Elvis. His trip to Graceland with his caregiver Ella Grover was one of the best times of his life. He was an avid sports fans especially boxing and football. He loved watching sports with his brothers and time spent at holiday gatherings with his family. Surviving are two brothers Sam (Carol) Armele and George (Jeannine) Armele both of Jamestown; three nieces JoLynn (Dan) Berg of Douglasville, GA, Lisa (Brian) Dalton of Jacksonville, FL and Lisa Ann (Jon) Reynolds of Tollesan, AZ; two nephews George (Nanette) Armele, Jr. of North Tonawanda and Scott (Rhonda) Apthorpe of Falconer and Jimmy's caregivers of 23 years Richard and Ella Grover of Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1972 and his father in 1976. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. James Catholic Church. Rev. Darrell Duffy will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home, where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 7 p.m..
