Obituary of Ronald A. White

Ronald A. White, 81, of 2726 Horton Road died Monday, June 16, 2014 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa. He was born in Jamestown on May 12, 1933, a son of the late Robert E. and Oleita Daley White, and a graduate of Jamestown High School. Ron was the past president of Jamestown Fabricated Steel, having just retired in 2013. He attended Watts Flats United Methodist Church, was a member of the North Harmony Senior Citizens, and a life member of the NRA. In addition to his wife, Carol Bergman-White, surviving is a daughter, Karen (Eric) Bartsch of Jamestown and a son, Jeffrey White of Ashville, NY; and three grandchildren: Hallie White of Jamestown, Emily White of California and Nicholas Loverme of Jamestown. Also surviving are three step-children: Paula Bergman and Dana Bergman, both of Jamestown, and Wanda (Ron) Bergman Martino of Camillus, NY; three step-grandchildren: Stephanie (Robert Stanko) Bergman of N. Syracuse, Christopher Martino of Camillus and Seth Bergman of Jamestown; a step-great-grandson, Brayden Stanko of N. Syracuse; and a sister, Dianne (Dan) Nelson of Jamestown and sister-in-law, Cynthia White of Rochester. Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida B. Annis White, who died September 7, 2001; and a brother, Robert White. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Warren Van Dewark will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Friday.
