Obituary of Patricia S. Barton

Patricia S. Barton, 71, of 2964 Mitchell Road, died at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014 in WCA Hospital. She was the widow of John W. Barton, Jr. whom she married May 4, 1963 and who died January 3, 2011. Pat was born October 18, 1942 in North Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of the late Richard and Vivian Curtis Schmidt. She had been employed for a number of years in the advertising department of Quality Markets. Pat was a loving mom and grandma who never missed her grandchildren's ball games, plays or concerts. She loved baking for her family, her specialties being her apple pie and cream puffs. Pat also cherished her three cats, "Stinky, Blaze and Milly". Surviving are two sons, John W. (Brenda) Barton III of Gerry, NY and Richard S. (Lauren) Barton of Bradford, PA; a daughter, Michelle L. (Bruce) Stearns of Lander, PA; and six grandchildren: John, Ali and Molly Barton of Gerry, Kaitlin and Abby Barton of Bradford, and Jacob Stearns of Lander. She is also survived by a sister- and brother-in-law, Kathy and Brian Westerdahl and their son, Todd Westerdahl and family and daughter, Kelly Westerdahl; and her aunt, Anne Lepley. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
