Obituary of Rosemary E. Johnson

Rosemary E. Johnson, 89, of 3639 Lind N Johnson Lane, Bemus Point, died Thursday June 26, 2014, in Tanglewood Manor. She was born February 4, 1925, in Galesburg, IL, a daughter of the late Gustaf and Florence Anderson Lundeen. She was a graduate of Knox College, Galesburg, IL with a bachelor's degree in music. She was a member of Zion Covenant Church for over 50 years. She participated in many ministries of the church including choir member, director and accompanist, Ladies Aide, Sunday school teacher and Dorcus Society. Music was a big part of her life having taught private piano lessons, playing piano for various groups and soloists and putting on concerts with long time friend Russell Chall. She enjoyed the many years spent at her home on Chautauqua Lake. Surviving are two sons Bruce (Nancy) Johnson and Gregory (Grace) Johnson, both of Jamestown; eight grandchildren Seth (Cindy) Johnson of Olean, Anneli Johnson of China and Cael, Asa, Thaddeus, Tage, Kiah and Abigail Johnson all of Jamestown and two great grandsons Landon and Micah Johnson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Eldon H. Johnson, whom she married September 27, 1952 and who died September 4, 2013; twin granddaughters Sarah and Linnea Johnson; four brothers Howard, Robert, Kenneth and Richard Lundeen and two sisters Lois and Dorothy Clausen. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in Zion Covenant Church. Rev. Rick Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Monday in the church.
