Obituary of Carl E. Hellman

Carl E. Hellman, 71, of West Oak Hill Rd., passed away at 4:50 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 peacefully at home with his family by his side after suffering for an extended period of time with Alzheimer's. He was born June 6, 1943 in Jamestown, the son of the late Eric Y. and Vera Swanson Hellman. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1962. Carl worked at AAA of Jamestown for 40 years. He attended Fluvanna Community Church for many years. He was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun, the Viking Lodge, and the Gideons. He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Jacobson, whom he married December 4, 1971; two daughters, Kristina Hellman of Alexandria, Va. and Katherine "Katie" Hellman of Jamestown. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday in the Fluvanna Community Church. The Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the church.
