Obituary of Robert P. Tompkins

Robert P. Tompkins Jr., 73, of 128 Van Buren St., Jamestown, died at 11:55 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 in WCA Hospital. A lifelong area resident, he was born January 18, 1941 in Jamestown the son of the late Robert P. and Cleta Blood Tompkins Sr. He was a graduate of Randolph High School. Bob enjoyed going to fairs, taking pictures, and caring for his animals. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a very loving and caring man who loved to listen and make people laugh. He was always there and willing to help anyone out when needed. Surviving is his lifetime companion, Brenda Truver; her father, Robert Truver; her sister, Bonnie (Paul) Himes; her four brothers, Dale (Laura) Truver, Kit Truver, Dan (Judy) Truver, Terry (Sharon) Truver; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Bosko; and Brenda's mother, Frances Truver. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the funeral home.
