Obituary of Helen L. Coone Bendle

Helen L. Coone Bendle, 80, died at 3:58 p.m. Thursday (July 17, 2014) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident most of her life, she was born July 16, 1934 in Indiana, PA the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Merld Smith Pribicko. Helen had been employed at the Woodlawn Motor Inn and at the Resource Center. She was a longtime member of the First Church of God and their Women's Missionary Society, and she enjoyed attending craft classes at the Hotel Jamestown. A big baseball fan, she liked going to Jamestown Jammer games and following the New York Yankees. Surviving are two sons, James W. (Marcia) Coone Jr., and Randy J. (Anita) Coone, both of Jamestown; eight grandchildren, Adrian Coone, Joshua Coone, Andrew Coone, Jason Coone, Laura Schmidt, Rochelle Park, Randy J. Coone Jr., Timothy Coone; and nine great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Coone Sr.; her second husband, Robert L. Bendle; and her sister, Mary A. Wittcop. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Myron Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
