Obituary of Marilyn M. Lewis

Marilyn M. Lewis, 87, formerly of 6 Seneca Street, died Wednesday July 23, 2014 in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A Jamestown native, she was born March 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mae Rushton Millard. She was a 1949 graduate of WCA Hospital School of Nursing. For many years she was employed by the former Fenton Park Nursing Home as a registered nurse on the 3-11 pm shift serving as supervisor. In earlier year she worked for Dr. James Goodell. She was a member of Christ First United Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters Kathleen Ann Spencer and Nancy Jeanne (John) Cunningham both of Jamestown; five grandchildren Travis (Jennifer) Thompson of Jacksonville, FL, Tracy (Katie) Thompson of Imperial, CA and Kevin Pratt, Rachael Spencer and Ashley Spencer all of Jamestown and two great grandchildren Dominik and Hunter Thompson. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J. Ransom Lewis, whom she married June 4, 1949 and who died April 3, 2005 and two brothers Don and Robert Millard. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Gerald A. Haglund will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
