Obituary of H. Alan Sandberg

H. Alan Sandberg, 89, of 839 Prendergast Avenue, Jamestown, formerly of 52 Valley View, Frewsburg, died Saturday July 26, 2014, in his home. An area resident most of his life, he was born September 24, 1924, in Jamestown, a son of the late Harry and Ethel Mae Swanson Sandberg. He was a 1942 graduate of Celoron High School and was a WWII veteran of the US Army serving from 1943-45. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed by Lakewood Construction and Supply as an estimator and designer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg. Surviving are three sons James Sandberg, D. Stacy Sandberg and Scott Sandberg, all of Jamestown; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lois Wall Sandberg, whom he married May 22, 1981 and who did February 27, 2011; two sons Rowley and Christopher Sandberg and a brother Donald N. Sandberg. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsberg. Rev. Rebecca Ehrlich will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
