I was deeply saddened to hear of Ruth's passing. I so loved her down-to-earth personality. She was a confident woman with a keen sense of humor and she gently did NOT beat around the bush. Her straightforwardness, particularly about life and politics, was refreshing. I pray for happy memories and comfort for her family.

Mum,
Love you
She will always be with us, She is the whisper of the leaves on a fresh New York autumn day. She is the smell of certain foods we remember, flowers we grow, the fragrance of life itself. To her grandchildren, she is rootbeer floats and berry picking, pie making Lake life itself. She is the books we read, the knowledge we have and the successes we have had. She is the cool hand on our brow when we are not feeling well. She is the nurse for our injuries and to others. She is our coach, our supporter, our biggest fan. She is our breath in the air on a cold winter Nebraska day. She is the invigoration of the wide open blue Montana sky. She is the warm hug, kiss and unbalanced checkbook. She is the excitement of Birthday cakes and parties. She is Christmas morning and chicken noodles the day after. She is the sports fanatic and the card shark. She is the ball of wool, the knitting needles and the warmth of our jumpers ( that is sweaters for the Americans here ) She lives inside our smiles, our laughter. She is where we come from, our home and the map that we follow. She is our first love, our best friend, soulmate, companion, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and auntie, nothing can separate us.

Grandma, the Lake is not the same without you here. We miss you telling us to "rauss" and encouraging us to "be the best that we can be." Thank you for all the wonderful memories of picking berries & fruit at the Lake, for rootbeer floats, for the trip to the Panama Canal, for encouraging our reading endeavors, for sharing your love of knitting, for chasing us around the world in Kuwait, England & Tunisia, for sled riding with us on the White Sands in NM, and for encouraging our sports endeavors. We'll miss you cheering us on and calling everyday to check on what sports activities we had on the schedule. Thank you Grandma for all the good times. We'll keep up your Conroe Tradition of picking berries each summer, but it won't be the same without you yelling: "Jocelyn stop picking one for the bucket & 20 for your belly." We love & miss you, but know you're playing cards in heaven with Great-Grandma now. Love you, Em & Joce

Mom, I will miss you dearly. There is a hole in my life where you used to be. You encouraged me to "go for it" in every instance and I have been successful by the World's standards due to you encouragement. The last four days I have probably sung every song you taught me over and over. I know you are in a better place. Echoing Grandpa Tom, I am sure that you are playing cards, as I write, with Grandma Polly and Uncle Mike. You are probably also whistling The Gypsy Rover as you prepare to drop your first trump card! I love and miss you. Your grandchildren will grow to reflect the values you taught us. Thank you for everything Mom.

I will miss you big sister, you always said I was the nice one. You were a nice one too! Because of age differences our adult years were spent many miles apart, but time and distance never broke the family bond. I can't believe I won't hear you say "hey there toots" when we would talk on the phone. The nice, quiet sister wishes you peace.

Even though we did not know Ruth, Dave and their family, with exception of Mark and his family, we feel we knew both of them from the kind and loving things we heard about them. Without any doubt Ruth is resting in the peace of the Lord. We pray for Dave and the family and hope they have a speedy healing after this unfortunate loss.
