Obituary of Cheryl A. Cole

Cheryl A. Cole, 58, of 7405 Warner Road, Sherman, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning (August 9, 2014) in her home. She was the wife of Kevin C. Cole whom she married December 31st, 1992. Cheryl was born August 23, 1955 in Jamestown, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Prescott) Verry. She received her Master's Degree in speech pathology after attending the University of Buffalo and SUNY Fredonia. She had worked as a speech pathologist at Mayville, Sherman and Chautauqua Central Schools, retiring from Chautauqua Lake in 2014. Cheryl had worked in the schools for 31 years and had loved teaching. Cheryl was a member of the Mayville VFW Ladies Auxiliary, VFW in Corry, Pa., Jamestown Vietnam Veterans Assoc. and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband Kevin, surviving are three brothers: A. Donald (Linda) Verry of Santee, CA, George P. (Mary) Verry of Davenport, IA, and Lawrence E. (Diane) Verry of Chula Vista, CA; a nephew, Timothy A. (Janet) Verry of Cleveland, OH; and an aunt, Barthelene Wajda of Chelmsford, MA. She is also survived by a long-time, close family friend of over 30 years, Harry L. Gordon, Jr. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Frederick A. Verry who died in 1969 during the Vietnam War; a nephew, Michael S. Verry; and an aunt, Eleanor Letskey of Worcester, MA. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Sears officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
