Obituary of Philip Nicosia
Philip "Butch" Nicosia, Jr., 65, of 888 Hunt Rd. Lakewood, NY, formerly of 118 Valley View Ave., Jamestown, passed away at 2:41 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, in W.C.A. Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, he was born March 20, 1949 in Jamestown, NY, the son of Josephine Guarnieri Nicosia and the late Philip Nicosia, Sr.
He was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church.
Butch enjoyed participating in the daily activities at the Resource Center especially listening to music, singing and dancing. He loved being around people and spending time with his family during the holidays and family gatherings.
Surviving are his mother Josephine Nicosia of Jamestown, two sisters, Patricia Nicosia, Barbara (Rodney) Percy both of Jamestown, his niece and nephews, LeeAnn (Damon) Pierce of Cranberry, PA, Jesse Percy, James Percy both of Jamestown, his great nieces and nephews, Noelle (Timothy) Butler of Manahawkin, NJ, Brooke Pierce, Wren Percy both of Jamestown, Nicholas Pierce of Cranberry, PA, as well as several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. today, (Saturday) in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m.,to the time of the mass today, in the Lind Funeral Home.
