Obituary of Elizabeth B. Carlson

Elizabeth B. Carlson, 86, of Rochester, NY, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday August 7, 2014, in Highland Hospital, Rochester. She was born June 5, 1928, in New York City, a daughter of the late Clayton and Esther Berg. She was a 1946 graduate of Cassadaga High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Fredonia College. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Jamestown Public School System as a teacher at Fairmount Elementary School. She was a member of Christ First United Methodist Church and earlier had belonged to Bethel Lutheran Church. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Surviving are two children MaryBeth (Scott) Meredith of Ashville and Mark (Debbie) Carlson of Ontario, NY; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Carlson, whom she married August 15, 1953 and who died October 22, 2009 and a grandson Michael Caouette in 1986. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. September 5, 2014 in Christ Chapel of Lutheran. Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate.
