Obituary of Margaret M. Newhouse
Margaret "Marge" Marie Newhouse, 86, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Jamestown, NY, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Gulf Coast Village Care Center, Cape Coral, FL. She had resided in Florida for the past three years.
A lifelong resident of Jamestown, she was born January 20, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, a daughter of the late Ervin Forsberg and Margaret Clark Forsberg Porter.
Marge was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and graduated in 1949 from the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, Buffalo, NY.
In earlier years she was a Registered Nurse working at the former Jamestown General Hospital. Following the birth of her two daughters, she was a homemaker and in later years worked in several retail stores in Jamestown and Lakewood.
Marge was a master seamstress and worked doing alterations and custom designs for her family and friends. Most everyone will remember her for her expertise in this field. She also passed along her seamstress talents to her daughters, teaching them to sew at a very young age.
Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will remember her for her support and laughter she provided as well as for the many beautiful ornaments, stockings and DVD's she took pride in making for them in her younger and later years. She was truly a talented and much loved person.
She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Carol J. Nordland (Boyd) and Joni Judd (Larry) both of Cape Coral, FL, four grandchildren, Kevin Schaal (Shannon) , Kayla Judd both of Cape Coral, Brian Newhouse of Buckingham, Fl, and Kerianne Harzewski (Brian) of Buffalo, NY as well as four great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Brooke, Blake and Cooper.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, retired Chaplain of W.C.A. Hospital will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the funeral home.
